Township Buildings to Reopen with Mask Requirement

As more people get the COVID vaccine, public buildings are re-opening. The Montgomery Township Municipal Building at 2261 Route 206, in Belle Mead, will reopen to the public on Monday, June 14, from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Montgomery Township Committee meetings will continue to be remote for now. “We will likely start with the smaller committees so they have enough room to spread out,” Mayor Devra Keenan says. “But we do not have a (start) date. There are many positive reasons for staying remote as long as possible.” T


The Otto Kaufman Community Center at 356 Skillman Rd in Skillman will reopen on June 14 as well, but with amended hours (8 am to 4:30 pm) and with masking, according to Township Administrator Donato Nieman. Hours are usually 8 am to 9 pm (Sept 1 - June 30: ) and 8 am to 6 pm (July 1 - Aug. 31).

Otto Kaufman Community Center

Community center rooms will be available for residents and non-profit organizations based in Montgomery to hold meetings Monday through Friday, but with amended hours (8 am to 4:30 pm) and with masking. Senior Center meals and programs will resume when Somerset County resumes its transportation.


As of May 25, Rocky Hill had not set a re-opening date for its municipal building, located at 15 Montgomery Ave. “We rely on our health officer for guidance, so I imagine the time frame will be similar to Montgomery Township’s,” Borough Council President Irene Bataglia said.
