A ceremony marking the start of construction on a $23 million expansion of facilities at Somerset County Vocational & Technical Schools (SCVTS) was held on March 27.

The Vo-Tech school is open to all Somerset County students, including Montgomery and Rocky Hill. The new building will include classrooms and learning labs. The construction of a new $3.7 million auxiliary gymnasium will take place concurrently.

Funding for these projects comes from a combination of state funds from the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act and funds contributed by the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners. SCVTS is a fully accredited, four-year high school with 19 challenging programs.
