Skillman Resident Charged with Driving While Intoxicated after Car Crash on Rt 518

Montgomery Township police officers arrested a 26-year-old Skillman resident and charged him with DWI after he allegedly drove through a red traffic light, causing a collision with another vehicle at the Route 518 / 601 intersection on July 4 at 11 pm.

None of the involved parties sustained injuries from the motor vehicle crash.


A police investigation determined Sidney Wright of Skillman was driving after consuming an alcoholic beverage. Police arrested Wright after he failed standardized field sobriety tests and transported him to MTPD HQ for processing. Wright was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, disregard for a traffic control device, and improper passing. He was released, and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Municipal Court.
