Capt. Bet thanked the township committee and his family for their continued support and their confidence in him. He especially acknowledged his wife, Kelly. "We have been together for 26 of my 30-year career," he said. "You have been the most loving, unselfish person I know, understanding the time and commitment ..., you continually supported me along the way. You kept reminding me that you didn't mind sharing me with our extended police department family, and the Montgomery Township community."

Capt. Bet dedicated his promotion to the loving memory of his parents.
