Santa Comes to Town

Posted November 30, 2023

Fire District #2

Ten years ago, Santa came down early from the North Pole to buy hay for his trusty reindeer. Montgomery Township Fire Company Station 46 (MTVFC#2) had collected wrapped presents that were to be distributed by the fire department, but had no one to help them.

Montgomery firefighters from Fire Company #2 will help Santa visit children in the Blawenburg/Skillman section of town.

Since the fire department had shiny new firetrucks, Santa decided to use them instead of his sleigh to deliver the presents. And a tradition was born! We caught up with Santa while he was reviewing his Naughty/ Nice list up in the North Pole.

How can a parent get a gift delivered to their child by a big fire truck?

“Ho Ho Ho, well first we have to make sure you live in the right area of town (scan QR code), because I can’t get all tired out for Christmas Eve!”

How does a family get a small present that is already wrapped to you?

Santa said to “Bring it to the firehouse on Route 518 from December 11 to 14, from 6 pm to 9 pm with a $25 donation to those fine men and women at MTVFC#2. Once confirmed that the child is on the nice list, on December 17, Santa and his trusty Elves will deliver the present (on a firetruck!!!) to the family.”

Article continues after ad.

Right before Santa comes to your house (you will hear all the horns and sirens) he will text you when to get the cookies ready for the Elves. Santa also wanted to remind the community that he will be driving around town with the fire trucks and his backup sleigh on December 3 – just to say hi to everyone. Listen for the sirens!

It sounds like a lot of fun - because it is. So many fond memories for both the families as well as the Elves and Santa. One of the Elves stated that she loves the children’s faces when Santa says their names and gives them the gift they have been dreaming about all year.
