Ruth F. Patterson, 96

Ruth F. Patterson, 96, a long-time Montgomery Township resident, died on April 3.


Ruth Patterson (Dec 25, 1923 to Apr 3, 2020)

Ruth was born December 25, 1923 to John and Elizabeth Frankel in New Brunswick, where she spent her childhood years with sisters Margaret Rice and Elaine Vassi, and brother Robert Frankel — all deceased. She married E. Stanton Patterson on January 22, 1943 in Allentown, PA.


Ruth was an active member of the Blawenburg Reformed Church for 69 years and enjoyed singing in the choir, working on various dinners, bazaars, rummage sales and other fundraisers. She was a joy and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed family gatherings, birthday celebrations, dance recitals, neighborhood parties, and church functions. She especially enjoyed visits and phone conversations with family and friends.


Ruth was an avid Nascar Race fan and watched Cup Races every week while keeping up with the NY Yankees baseball games.


Ruth is predeceased by her husband, E. Stanton “Pat” Patterson (March 1992). She is survived by her children: Wayne (Dorothy) Patterson of Yardley, PA; Cheryl (John) Soos of Lewes, DE; Larry (Carol) Patterson of Allenton, NJ; Carol Patterson of West Trenton; and Wendy Patterson of Yardley, PA. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Don Patterson of Howell. Ruth has 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with the 14th due in June.


A private burial will be held. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Blawenburg Reformed Church at a later date when group gatherings are permitted.


In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s name may sent to Blawenburg Reformed Church, P.O. Box 266, Blawenburg, NJ 08504 for “Project Save Our Steeple."
