Rocky Hill Burglary Suspect Surrenders to Police, 13 Years after the Crime

By Barbara A. Preston | Posted March 27, 2025

South Brunswick Police announced Wednesday that Dale Scott, 52, of Manville, turned himself in after seeing himself wanted in a Nixle alert sent out on Monday.

Scott was charged with a burglary that took place at a Rocky Hill home in February 2012. The resident reported that numerous pieces of jewelry were stolen.

At the time of the crime in 2012, Sergeant Ken Herman, who was then a detective, responded to the scene and conducted a detailed crime scene search. Sergeant Herman recovered numerous pieces of evidence, including boot prints, a burnt cigarette, and several latent fingerprints. The evidence was submitted to the New Jersey State Police for examination. In January of 2025, one piece of evidence returned a match for Scott.

Scott was transported to the Middlesex County Correction Center, pending his initial court appearance.

Chief Raymond Hayducka thanked all those who contacted the police with information on Mr. Scott. A special thanks to the Manville Police Department for their help.
