Pamela Booth - Republican Candidate for Montgomery Township Committee 2024

Posted October 16, 2024

Pamela Booth, a local real estate agent, ran unsuccessfully for Montgomery Township Committee last year in 2023, and appeared in a forum hosted by the League of Women Voters in 2023.

The Montgomery News gave each 2024 candidate for Montgomery Township Committee the opportunity to address their constituents for free in our newspaper and our website. Each were offered the space for 500 words to address issues of their choice. Some used the full word count, some did not. Best of luck to all candidates.

Pamela Booth in her own words....

Another election opportunity approaches us quickly, and each of us must decide how to cast our ballot. Once again, Marion Sanders and I ask for your vote. It is our firm belief that for all citizens of Montgomery to be represented, both political parties must be represented on the township committee. They currently are not!! My friends, there is evidence that our voices are not being heard!

We have asked before for greater transparency and detail in our tax expenditure, but when detail is offered, what we get is given so quickly in township meetings and input asked for so close to deadlines that we have no time to consider, let alone ask, whether this is how we want our tax dollars spent! If our decisions, and trust to have them made the way we want them made, is put entirely in our election choices, do we truly want these choices made entirely by one political party's leaning!?!

We colorfully celebrate many holidays in our township, but at least one major holiday that is not evidenced by any form of decoration, at least on our major Hwy of 206, or in our halls or library, is Christmas. Call it “Winter holidays” if you like. Why is this? Is it that costly? Let’s vote on it! I believe most Montgomery citizens still celebrate, or at least widely acknowledge this holiday and other winter holidays. Could we not acknowledge them publicly for at least one month of the year?

Finally, parents must be allowed say in what their children are exposed to in our schools. Values cannot be the price paid for freedom of expression. We welcome diversity, all are loved and welcomed without judgement. But we cannot allow the foisting of beliefs on our children, just because some believe differently, and in the name of “inclusion.”

This country was founded and based on Judeo Christian ethics and values. We accept diversity in others, but that does not mean that we can permit exposing our children to values that their parents are not in favor of. School Board issue or not, those of us who live here have known this countries values, most of us, since school age, and we live here because we SUPPORT those values! Anyone who disagrees with and wants to change laws is free to discuss them. But God help us when we allow people to freely believe they should be able to try to change our values in our children’s schools without parental knowledge or consent!

Montgomery Township schools used to be the key draw to our community and the reason that our home values stayed consistent, but those assets are in jeopardy, because this has been permitted, and in large part, it has been permitted because only one party is represented in our township committee. It is time to reestablish balance.

Vote for Booth & Sanders on November 5. Thank you!
