Neena Singh - D

Posted October 16, 2024

My commitment to Montgomery extends beyond my role as mayor. I proudly serve on multiple key committees, including the Planning Board, Recreation Committee, Youth Leadership Council, Municipal Green Initiative Team, and Budget & Finance Committee. This diverse involvement allows me to take a comprehensive approach to township decisions.

As a community volunteer in Montgomery, I was honored to receive the NJ Governor Synergy award for my work. I am a senior partner at KW Cornerstone in Montgomery and also served as an executive board member at STAND Central NJ and Advisory Board member of Healthy Mind Healthy Body Initiative. I have a bachelor’s degree in history and political science.

Neena Singh, Montgomery Mayor

Championed Community Engagement and Health/Wellness:

I signed the Mayor’s Wellness pledge to champion Community Health. Under my leadership, Montgomery Township has seen significant advancements in community engagement and health initiatives. Notable achievements include facilitating partnerships with local nonprofits for community events and securing $750,000 grant funding for transformative projects like the all-inclusive playground. We upgraded OKCC with increased Senior Center amenities and programs. We worked to enhance communication and transparency, so residents have clear access to resources. We proudly earned the “Healthy town-to-watch “designation.

Mobility, Walkability, and Public Safety:

I prioritize public safety and infrastructure improvements, focusing on enhancing mobility and walkability across Montgomery. Initiatives such as the pedestrian safety education pop-ups and collaborations with neighboring towns exemplify my proactive stance on community safety. Quality of life issues like transportation and safe linkages are important to our residents. In collaboration with County and NJDOT we added and are adding high visibility crosswalks at 206/ Belle Mead Griggs town and orchard /206.We worked with Hillsborough for a commuter bus to New York city. Under my leadership we focused on public safety campaigns at crossings, village walk and the upcoming Ped safety campaign at Grove in October.

Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability:

My tenure has been marked by fiscal responsibility, we passed a budget below the inflation rate and maintained a Triple-A credit rating for Montgomery. Under my leadership we secured 2.2 million in grants from the state and county. We recruited our first Business Advocate, and I announced an Initiative to bring Life Sciences companies to Montgomery to leverage the underutilized and vacant existing large office complexes. Our slogan is, “Montgomery - Where opportunity meets innovation.” We are prepared to assist companies to navigate state and federal grants. Look out for the launch of our website: InnovateMontgomeryNJ.com

Future Vision and Commitment:

I am very proud of what I have accomplished in my term, but we have more work to do.

Looking ahead, I remain dedicated to serving Montgomery Township with a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and responsive leadership. It will be my honor and privilege to continue to serve my community on the township committee. As I seek re-election, I am proud of my track record and shared vision for Montgomery Township. I am a steadfast advocate for progress and community well-being.
