Under the direction of the township planning director, Galan will review zoning permits and enforce zoning ordinances. He will also support economic development efforts in Montgomery Township. In the business advocate role, he will serve as an advisor to the Montgomery Township Economic Development Commission (EDC), and work closely with the Montgomery Business Association (MBA) and Somerset County Office of Planning, Policy and Economic Development to advocate for local businesses and economic development.

Previously, Galan worked as a zoning officer for Franklin Township, where he answered inquiries from architects, engineers, attorneys, real estate professionals, building contractors and the general public regarding land usage, zoning laws, and local ordinances. He has also worked as a building inspector for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development for more than 12 years, so he has experience working with property managers and landlords. As an added bonus, he is bilingual, with a professional working proficiency in Spanish. This is a full time position with a salary range of $68,358.00- $84,850.00 per year.
