Montgomery Police Investigate Swatting Incident

On February 18, Montgomery Police responded to a Brookline Court residence after receiving a call from an individual who claimed he assaulted his parents and was going to kill them.

Upon arrival, police set up a perimeter around the residence and gathered intelligence to determine who resided in the residence. Officers then gained entry and determined the residence was unoccupied. Montgomery Police determined the call was a swatting incident and are investigating the matter.

Swatting is the practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address.
