Marian Shirley Tesser, 80, of Belle Mead died at her home on December 19 after a difficult bout with cancer.
Marian was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 21, 1941. The first member of her family to graduate from college (Brooklyn College ’62), Marian went on to earn a master's degree in social work rom Rutgers University and continued to provide counsel to her clients until three weeks before she died. Marian was a fiercely tenacious mother, raising four equally independent, tenacious children.
Marian is survived by her siblings: Roz Morris and Richard Klein; children Deborah (Eric Applegate), Jonathan (Virginia), Adam (Jodi), and Michael (Stephanie); and ten grandchildren (Marissa Applegate, Benjamin Applegate, Brian Tesser, Daniel Tesser, Andrew Tesser, Julia Tesser, Emma Tesser, Hailey Tesser, Gabriella Tesser, and Jacob Tesser.)
The graveside funeral service was held at the Rocky Hill Cemetery, where Marian was laid to rest next to her husband of 43 years, Harvey Tesser.
Memorial donations in Marian’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
