Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Route 206 in Montgomery Township, Skillman Resident Dies

The 26-year-old Montgomery resident who died on Friday, December 1 in a motorcycle crash on Route 206, near Sunset Road, has been identified as Daniel J. Nelson of Skillman. His obituary is posted online.

Montgomery Police have not released the details of the crash — only that they responded to the crash site at 12:17 pm on December 1. Montgomery EMS Squad 47 and Robert Wood Johnson Somerset Medics responded to treat Nelson.

Montgomery Fire Company #1 out of Belle Mead and Fire Company #2 from Blawenburg established a landing zone for the NJ State Police NorthSTAR Medevac. The helicopter was not needed, according to firefighters who were on the scene. Members of the Somerset County CART Team responded. The NJ DOT Diversion Team responded and provided detour routes for the impacted traffic. Route 206 was closed for approximately three hours.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was evaluated and declined additional treatment.
