Dennis Lee Haren Sr., 76

Dennis Lee Haren, Sr., 76, of Skillman died peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024, after a long illness.


He was born on June 12, 1948 in Irvington to the late John William, Sr. and Magdelena Haren. He later moved to Montgomery Township, where he spent most of his life.


He was a member of The Knights of Columbus Hopewell Council (No. 7103), where he served as Grand Knight for several years, and he attended Saint Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in Hopewell. He spent his professional career in the Plumbers’ Local (No.24) in Newark for 53 years.


The most important things to him were God, country and family. He loved putzing around in his garage, which he called his “man cave,” and he was a lifetime Redskins fan. His favorite food was pork roll and cheese on a roll.


Dennis was predeceased by his son, Dennis Lee Harren, Jr. and his brother John William Haren, Jr.


He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gina; three sons - Vernon Scott (Deanna) of South Brunswick, Michael James (Serene) of Kamuela, HI, and Charles Edward (Jennifer) of Pearl River, NY, and his daughter, Asia Rae of Dallas, TX.


He also leaves behind seven grandchildren (Brittnay, Austin, Theta, Kaia, Michael, Charlie and Daniel), one great granddaughter, Ivy Lee, one sister, Christine Haren, his beloved niece, Antoinette Haren ,and his nephew, John William Haren III.


Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12 from 12 noon to 2 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road (Pennington Circle), in Pennington.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 54 East Prospect Street, Hopewell at 11 am on Saturday, July 13. Interment will follow immediately after at Saint Alphonsus Cemetery.
