Paul M. Boisde, 90, a long-time resident of Montgomery Township, died on September 20 at Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro.
Paul is survived by his spouse, Denise Boisde; two children, Herve Boisde and Cecile Brice; son-in-law Chuck Brice; and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Charlie. His daughter Agnes Boisde died tragically in 1987.
Paul was born and raised in the village of Saint-Mars-La-Jaille in the Loire-Atlantique region of western France. He came from a large family and was the oldest of eight children, and the oldest among a group of 18 first cousins, who were all very close.
Throughout his life, he was considered a leader and mentor by his family and peers. Paul excelled in school throughout his academic career. His collegiate studies began in Angers, France studying chemistry. He went on to earn a master's degree and then his PhD in Industrial Chemistry in Lyons, France.
He was sought out by the French chemical company Rhone Poulenc and began his career with them in Paris. He then transferred to their facility in New Brunswick, encouraged by his mentor and friend Jacques Sibeud, and spent the rest of his career in New Jersey working in research and development.
He married Denise Pucelle in France in 1960, and started a family with her in New Brunswick, before moving to their home in Montgomery Township in 1966.
Paul and Denise returned to their native homeland each year throughout their marriage. They also travelled extensively all over the world. Paul enjoyed life to the fullest, in the company of his wife, family, and friends, and will be greatly missed.
