David Sherwood Huggins, 95

US Navy Lieutenant Commander David Sherwood Huggins (Ret.) of Montgomery Township died July 24 at home. He was a Princeton-area resident for many years.

Born in Karuizawa, Japan, he was son of the late Harold Huggins and Dorothy Hideko Tanaka Brinkley Huggins.

David was with the US Navy and National Security Agency for more than 20 years, and served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a proud member of the US Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association.

He retired from General Electric / David Sarnoff Research Labs in West Windsor.

David was predeceased by his wife, Joan Shirley Huggins. He is survived by three daughters: Jane Malia Re of Princeton; Denise Anne Zavitski of South Mountain, Ontario; and Kate Therese Werner of Selinsgrove, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date. There are no calling hours.
