Always positive and hopeful

Oct 4, 1949 — Aug 22, 2019

___

Hillary Kramer Delaney of Rocky Hill died August 22 after surviving ovarian cancer for eight years. All the while she lived her life on life’s terms, always positive and hopeful.

Hillary was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 4, 1949 to Jacqueline and William Kramer, growing up there with older brother Peter and younger sister Jeremy.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Edgar L. “Trey” Delaney and their sons, Andrew S. Delaney, wife Linda, and Brian H. Delaney, fiance’ Dana Cosgrove. She met Trey in Greenville, SC, they married in Columbia, SC and lived in West Hartford, CT, Birmingham, AL, and Maplewood, before settling in Rocky Hill. She had a way of connecting with people very quickly sharing her smile, energy and sunny disposition with everyone.

Hillary was a 1971 graduate of East Carolina and an 2008 graduate of UMASS with a master's degree in Landscape Architecture. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening, playing golf, hunting for shells and sharks teeth at the beach, and spending time with family and entertaining friends.

She was always active in church. Trinity Church Princeton benefitted from her volunteering at the front desk, serving on the alter guild and grounds committees, and working the rummage sales. In turn, Trinity has always provided her with spiritual comfort and guidance, with her many friends there giving her support and love.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church Princeton on Saturday September 21 at 11 am followed by a reception in Pierce - Bishop Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes you would please consider making a gift to Trinity Church, 33 Mercer Street, Princeton NJ 08540, or to the SAVE Animal Shelter in Skillman.
